Motorway vignette
Croatia has no vignette. You take a ticket when entering the motorway and pay by distance and vehicle class when exiting (cash, card, or the ENC transponder). A fully digital free-flow system called Crolibertas is announced for 1 March 2027 — through 2026 the classic toll gates remain. If any website offers to sell you a Croatian vignette, do not buy it — no such vignette exists.

Croatian motorway toll is charged per kilometre by vehicle class and paid at the toll gates. An ENC transponder (around €15) gives you dedicated lanes and up to about 21% discount — worth it only if you drive there often. Some routes are run by other concessionaires and the ENC works on a prepaid balance, so for an occasional trip paying directly at the gate is usually simpler.

Croatia has no country-wide low-emission zone and no emission sticker for cars.
Emergency numbers
112 covers all emergencies in Croatia; you can also call 192 for police, 193 for the fire brigade and 194 for an ambulance. HAK road assistance is on 1987. In an accident with injuries, call for help and stay at the scene.
